The idea being to burn off the old gas in my tank so I can put fresh gas for doing the timing. My mom wanted me to meet her at Best Buy, so I drove there first. Oooh oh oh it was SO nice to be back in the Z again! Things were going famously! AC... tunes... I was a happy camper. After Best Buy I drove to work. When I was almost at work I stopped at a stop light and I heard a noise kind of like when somebody makes a kissy noise? Except that it didn't stop. "That's weird," I thought. "It sounds almost like coolant escaping through a small opening or something." I looked at the temperature guage. It was suddenly waaaay up near (but not AT) the top. AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!! I began to will the stoplight to turn green. "Turn green! Turn green! Turn green!" It turned green. I darted into a parking lot, stopped the car, turned it off, and popped the hood. Out came steam. Lots and lots of steam. From whence I could not tell. I *could* tell that it was coming from the back of the engine. In hopes of reducing the massive outpouring of steam, I loosened the radiator cap, in spite of the big yellow sticker advising me against it. Yea verily, my radiator didst become a fountian, with water gushing high enough almost to splash the underside of the open hood. After 15 seconds or so of this, the fountain action ceased. I waited a few minutes for good measure, and then quickly drove 1/2 mile or so to a Safeway, turning off the car at 45mph and coasting into the parking lot. I ran inside, bought 2 gallons of distilled water, added some to the radiator, watched it splash back out... waited a minute, repeated this procedure. Anyway... it took fully 10 minutes to add 2 gallons of water to the system because every time it filled up a little bit, it would boil and splash out. 8-| Once I got all the water in, I drove the remaining half-mile to work, where I did my duties in frustration. After work I bought another gallon of water, put about half of it in to top off the radiator, and drove home without incident. When I got home, I popped the hood and attempted to locate the source of the leak. I looked in the back of the engine and with my mechanic's stethoscope I noted 1 loose hose clamp, which I tightened; this made the squealing sound louder, and I believe I have traced it to the metal water line that goes down in the back/center of the engine and then makes a 90° turn and bolts into the back of the block. Hopefully I'll be able to get a wrench in there without pulling the plenum again. 8P I especially feel like an idiot because right before I put the plenum on I was like "Should I re-tighten those bolts? Naaah, I'm sure I did it fine before..." 8P
